Although the recently broadcast Panorama highlighted specific issues within the will writing industry south of the border it is understandable that this may be the cause of some concern to clients.
The programme highlights the practice of companies who sell pre-paid administration services. Caledonia Will Services do not sell pre-paid estate administration services.
At the time of preparing a Will we outline the duties of an executor and the options available to clients for appointing an executor. Our clients are not obligated to appoint ourselves, or an associated firm, as executors when drawing up the Will. Where an associated firm is appointed as an executor in a Will they must step down if requested to do so by the executors and/or the beneficiaries.
